Magnesium Oxide for Soil Fertility Magnesium (Mg) is an essential nutrient in
fertilizers. It is a constituent of chlorophyll and is actively involved in photosynthesis
and an activator of many enzyme systems.
Most concentrated sources of Mg for use in fertilizers is magnesium oxide (MgO) which
contains from 50 to 58% Mg. This high concentration is very important in formulating bulk
blends with high concentrations of the primary nutrients, N, P, and K.
Premier Chemicals offers a variety of grades of MgO and MgCO3 (magnesium carbonate) for
different fertilizer applications.
